Helping Property Owners Recover After Wildfire Damage

Following wildfire damage in West Kelowna, First Tracks Contracting completed demolition, debris removal and property restoration work at two neighbouring properties along Westside Road.

Although located near one another, the properties presented different challenges, requiring customized approaches to demolition, material handling, equipment access and site recovery.

Property One: Foundation Removal & Debris Cleanup

Our team removed fire-damaged foundations, concrete slabs and footings, along with the hauling and disposal of fire-related debris.

Work was completed over approximately one month, addressing the heavy demolition and cleanup required following the loss of the structure.

Property Two: Demolition, Retaining Walls & Property Restoration

The second property required a broader scope of work over approximately three months, including demolition of burned cabins, removal of damaged retaining walls, debris cleanup and removal of fire-affected trees.

First Tracks also reconstructed retaining walls and completed property restoration work.

A significant challenge was limited access caused by unstable road and bank conditions. With larger hauling trucks unable to safely access the site, our team adapted the removal process using smaller pickup trucks and trailers.

Throughout both projects, First Tracks coordinated with the homeowners and the designated insurance and project representative regarding work progress and required approvals.
